Washington State University Greeks have made a significant impact on the Pullman community and throughout the region, performing over 15,000 hours of service during the Fall 2011 semester. This is the most documented service ever performed by the Greek community in one semester, and their dedication to civic engagement benefits dozens of organization throughout the Palouse helping establish real connections between WSU students and the community.

Because the Greek community recognizes that service is an important aspect of personal development, they require service of themselves. Taylor Hennessey, the Inter-Fraternity Council Director of Scholarship and Service believes that, "a well-balanced individual has the opportunity to participate in philanthropy as well as perform direct service to the community. I am very proud of everyone in the Greek community for the effort that they put into service last semester.”

Greeks are also very involved in philanthropic endeavors, raising awareness and thousands of dollars for local and national organizations for various causes. All these forms of engagement not only benefit the community immediately, but also help Greeks develop life-long patterns of involvement.
