Frequency of announcements
Announcements are sent twice daily during the academic year at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and once per day in the summer at 1 p.m. Deadline for submission is 9:45 a.m. and 1:45 p.m., consectively. During the summer the deadline submission is 12:45 pm
Emergency announcements can be sent out on an up-to-the-minute basis during emergency situations involving the health and safety of faculty, staff and students.
Who can submit an announcement
All announcements must be information from a WSU department, unit or recognized student organization. Each announcement must include the name of the person and the unit submitting the announcement, plus contact information including email address and telephone number.
Student announcements
Announcements by registered student organization or events that are specifically for the student population are considered student announcements.
Submitting an announcement more than once
Submitted announcements will be sent only once. To best serve our readers, we do not send the same message multiple times in a short period, even if resubmitted. However, for major University-wide events, a full announcement can be sent a week or more ahead with a brief reminder sent a day or two before the event. Similarly, when there are major changes in policies or procedures important to many employees, a series of announcements may be appropriate. If you have special circumstances, please contact Brenda Campbell at bcampbell@wsu.edu
Co-sponsored WSU event
Announcements about activities on or off campus that are co-sponsored by a WSU unit with an outside organization may be submitted, but the WSU co-sponsorship needs to be clear, and the name and contact information for the sponsoring WSU unit must be submitted.
