Solstice Quintet Presents Special Summer Concert at WSU Art Museum
The Washington State University Solstice Wind Quintet will present a special summer concert at the WSU Art Museum at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 17. The concert is free of charge and the public is invited to enjoy music and art in an intimate setting.
The Solstice Quintet features WSU School of Music faculty members Ann Marie Yasinitsky, flute; Shannon Scott, clarinet; Keri McCarthy, oboe; Jennifer Scriggins Brummett, horn; and Ryan Hare, bassoon.
Solstice has presented hundreds of concerts throughout the Pacific Northwest including performances on prestigious chamber music series.
The program will include works from around the world by Austrian, German, French, Argentinean and American composers Ibert, Lefebvre, Haydn, Reicha, Piazzolla and Schuller.

Commission on Status of Women Mtg. CANCELLED
The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) has cancelled their monthly meeting, which was planned for Friday, May 16th. The next CSW meeting will be held in September. The date, time, and place will be announced at a later date.
The CSW is a collective group of more than 50 members across WSU campuses. The mission of the Commission is to gather information and make policy recommendations regarding matter pertaining to all women. In addition to gender, the Commission promotes diversity and addresses issues of race, class, age, ethnic origin, disability and sexual orientation.

Belay Orientation and Backpacking 101
Learn the skills required to belay a climbing partner or gain valuable backpacking knowledge with a Belay Orientation or Backpacking 101 course hosted by the ORC staff. The belay orientation will be held on May 19 and no experience is required. The cost is $10 for SRC members, $13 for non-members and registration closes May 18. Youth Swim Lessons Offered at the SRC
Help your child gain fundamental swimming skills with the Sunday School of Swim and Parent/Child Swim Lessons! Youth School of Swim classes will be offered every Sunday, May 18 – June 8. The cost is $20 for SRC members, $27 for non-members, and registration closes May 16. Parent/Child Swim Lessons will take place every Tuesday, May 20 – June 10.
